staying the first night in Belém. Hotel room I shared with Trent (my advisor) and of course, the mirror ID had to be taken.

national history museum (or something like that). in fact, here, the lapedo child (paleolithic skeleton from the site we were excavating) is housed.

all around Belém

zeitgeist - the spirit of time, I guess (don't speak german)

our hotel

Belém is a place where most ambassies and a presidential palace are. don't know what building was that but guards signify probably some important one.

behind the walls of IPA (instituto portugese de archeologia - hopefully not misspelled :-) ).

this is the place where Chiko (Dr. Francesco Almeida) works

in Santa Eufemia, where we stayed. this was the restaurant we enjoyed really great and huge meals twice a day :)

Valerie, Joanna and Denise already in lapedo valley and lagar velho

sara and denisse

this house belongs to a guy who owns the land in lagar velho site. nice house, as said by Chiko also a nice guy, but who the hell knows how much archeology got destroyed when he built that house (without a permission)
